Concrete Canoe

About us
The ASCE Concrete Canoe Competition is a nationwide competition that provides students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience while developing their project management and team skills. Every year, hundreds of universities come together to compete in designing, building, and racing a concrete canoe. These challenges serve to expand on students’ knowledge and creativity while demonstrating the versatility of concrete as a building material.
Texas A&M University has been competing for over 45 years in concrete canoe competitions. A&M is part of Region 6, which includes universities from all over Texas, Mexico, Oklahoma, and New Mexico.
For the past 6 years, TAMU Concrete Canoe has consistently placed in regionals and even went to nationals. The team placed first place in regionals in 2015 and placed top 15 in the nation. In 2016, the team placed second in regionals. The team placed third in regionals in 2017 and 2018. In 2019, the team placed second in regionals. The team placed fifth in 2020. In 2021, the team placed second in regionals and went to nationals!
